[me!] obligatory camwhore angle
Yesterday was my third Black Friday at Barnes & Noble. And it was by far the tamest. I spent most of it cashiering, which I normally hate. But it wasn't bad because it meant instead of running around like a maniac, I got to stand in one place and not stress out too much.

It's been a busy week.

Wednesday was my last concert of the year, and it was a doozy. Nekromantix and Rob Zombie in Columbus. Nekromantix kicked ass. The pit for Rob Zombie was too much and we moved back after two songs. We were two people away from the rail, which was nice considering we started waaay back. It was just too hot, everyone was being really rough and the guy in front of me kept elbowing me in the neck. It was funny, because seconds after we moved, Rob said "Alright, we're going to play this next one for the ladies before they all bail and move back because the pit's too rough." It wasn't SO terrible, no worse than the last time we saw NIN, but the difference is I was DETERMINED to get on the rail for NIN (and I did!).

They played three White Zombie songs, so that was exciting.

This is a list of all the bands I saw this year:

+ Horrorpops, Longway, The Applicators
+ The Birthday Massacre, I Am Ghost, Dommin (skipped)
+ Mudhoney, National Suicide Day
+ Meat Puppets, Retribution Gospel Choir, Dirty Faces
+ Jane's Addiction, Nine Inch Nails, Street Sweeper Social Club
+ Julien-K, Aesthetic Perfection, dismantled, Combichrist (skipped)
+ Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
+ Adrian Belew, Cuda Renko & Cuda
+ The Melvins
+ Butthole Surfers, Psychic Ills
+ Revolting Cocks, Blownload, Left Spine Down
+ Type O Negative, Destrophy, Seventh Void
+ Skinny Puppy, Vvervvolf Grehv
+ Rob Zombie, Nekromantix, Captain Clegg and the Nightmare Creatures

We saw so many amazing bands this year. Seriously. Some of the most fun I've ever had has been at concerts. I don't think most people attend enough of them in their lifetime.

[movie] like a peppermint
David and I went to Cuyahoga Falls yesterday to explore some shops. We were going in that direction mainly because I wanted to check out the Asian market my mom always talks about. I walked in with the intentions on spending ludicrous amounts of money on candy. It did not disappoint. This was my haul:

I may have gone overboard. Everything is biscuit-related. :B I am a sucker for this kind of junk food. Too bad it's mostly a thing of the past in America. (RIP, Dunk-A-Roos and Koala Yummies.) Speaking of Koala Yummies, I did resist buying a jumbo pack of them in chocolate flavor.

After I was sufficiently loaded up on sweets, we stopped at a comic book shop with a huge amount of Sailor Moon collectibles and anime junk in general. I was impressed. We also visited a crappy music store, a value village, and a used DVD/game store that dealt mostly in porn.

Then we came home, made hobo pizzas out of hot dog buns, and watched Princess Bride. It was a pretty excellent way to spend a day off.

I made $43 selling some skinny jeans and hoodies I've never worn to Plato's Closet. I wish I could be more excited, but I sold them to pay bills/make it easier to buy Christmas presents. They didn't take any of the shirts I brought, which I don't understand. They were all F21 and similar brands. Or from the Target designer lines. And they were all tunic tops/mini dresses that are still in style. And seriously, all of them had been worn less than five times. That place is so hit or miss when it comes to selling. They had pairs of crocs for sale, FFS. CROCS! You can't say you're selective and then take crocs.

We saw Skinny Puppy last Tuesday. It saw awwweeeesome. I heart Ogre. He's such an amazing stage performer. Plus he's Pavi in Repo!. That only makes me love him more. I love the energy at industrial concerts. Everyone dances and has so much fun.

I finally read The Road. I liked it a lot, but not nearly as much as some other Cormac McCarthy books. I don't know how it's going to translate into movie form.

I should go do something productive.

Yikes. I've been putting off updating LJ because I'm lazy. Whenever things actually happen to me, I think "oh lord it will take FOREVER to type all of this up." And then I just don't. Ever.

Highlights of my last few weeks:
+ Saw Revolting Cocks and Jim Rose.
+ Saw Type O Negative
+ Carved a fat cartoon dinosaur into a pumpkin.
+ Wore a Minnie Mouse costume to work.
+ Indulged in a lot of cheesy 80's horror flicks.
+ Venture Bros. is back!

October, you were good to me. Even though we didn't get to do half the fun things David and I wanted to do this Halloween season, I still had a good time.

Happy Halloween!

[disney] tune as old as song
Epic Mickey. I am dying over here! This thing looks amazing. I posted a link a while ago to some of the concept art. They've released more details and this thing looks so cool. I can't wait. It's so awesome who they picked for the villain, too.
